You can buy links from high Google PageRank relavent websites/blogs to raise your blogs pr.

Submit your blog to directories and search engines.

Find services that you can add your feed to-specialist blog feed directories-find them by googling rss directories.

Add your blog url to you sig on forums and in your email signature.

Keep your blog updatted at least 3 x per week, this keeps your visitors coming back for fresh content and news.

Publicize your blogs rss feed, offer it free on your site, giving others your blessing to include your feed on their site if they wish.

Dont forget to ping your rss feed to the various news services each time that you post!

Add a my Yahoo etc button so surfers can easily bookmark and have your content delivered to them automatically.

Great infos. IMHO, for beginners they tend to find all the free promotion tools instead of paying.

Search engine submition: google's addurl, addme.com and also at yahoo. Some words of caution, do not copy and paste from other site!

Blog owners also should participate in related fora and make sure your blog get enough exposre.

You can always advertise your blog in Autosurf sites. Juts make sure you don't have Adsense ads. Google doesn't allow websites with adsense ads to be promoted in autosurfs. I only do this during start up of blog. It's not as effective as buying banner ads but it catches the attention of other people. It's easy to do and most of all...IT'S FREE!

How many people actually utilize their signature lines when they post on message boards? I'm guilty in that I don't always use mine but I hear that using them works well for one way links that the Search Engines will pick up on. Is this true? If so, then here's another great way to promote your blog.

I have used my signature often, but I do not really look at other people's signatures. I am really not too sure of the effectiveness of signatures. Do they have any recall value ?

I don't think that a lot of people reading forums actually look at other people's signatures unless they truly catch that person's eye. However, this doesn't mean that a signature has no value. This is NOT true! Signatures are still valuable as they're oftentimes picked up by the Search Engines and count as one way links which have the potential of increasing your rank on that Search Engine.
