Google hated spam and all those techniques that resorted to false and unethical means in order to rank well in SERPs. But what has happened to Google? Once used to be an anti-spam has turned itself into a pro-spam. What is the motive behind this?
Google is perhaps encouraging search engine spam because they are more interested in making money. How does this happen? An irrelevant or spam result is of no use to a searcher and this forces user to click on those paid or sponsored listings. A normal user hardly goes beyond first three pages of Search results. So why not force users to click on paid listings! Ultimately they will have to because they will not get relevant information that is for sure. Spam results and Google Adwords seem to be related some way or the other. People from around the search community have been talking about this issue for some time now. Google is perhaps manipulating search results to place spam or irrelevant results at the top. A dissatisfied user would definitely click on those paid listings, which bring Google maximum revenue. The appearance of such irrelevant sites in top results, leads the visitors to relevant paid listings. i.e. Adwords or a Google ally (spam) site with Adsense on it. |

I totally agree with you. Google use to be the best Search Engine online, underline use to be. Today they are as full of junk as the other Search Engines out there. I really think that this is quite a shame.

I have been told there are methods about to be applied by google to stamp out all the seo spam. One thing they have already put in place is a 'hold' period on sites. New sites, no matter how well indexed, what seo spam techniques, or number of backlinks gained-will have a hold put on any pr being given for a certain time period. Google has a habbit of suddenly jumping up and bitting seo spammers on the butt-so watch this space....

RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs. But it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS: the "recent changes" page of a wiki, a changelog of CVS checking, even the revision history of a book. Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way. | |
