Would a home based business work for you?

The world has become a smaller place these days, with the internet making it possible for all of us to transfer data quickly via the net from one corner of the globe to the other (cyber space and internet providers permitting) in a matter of seconds. Many people are opting to work from home for their employer at least part of the time and many more are chosing to set up their own business also. Either as an additional source of income to supplement the family finances or to be their main and only source of income.

Why is this sector (Work from home) becoming one of the biggest growth industries in developed areas?

The main reasons:

No commuting!!!

No awful co workers to tolerate (there always at least one)

Both men and women (moms and dads) are finding they prefer to spend more time with their families.

Parenting can be easier when you are able to be 'On site' so to speak

It may be preferable to choose your own hours

Health reasons

Family commitments (Such as caring for elderly relatives)

You prefer to be the master of your own destiny (Well you wont ever face redundancy or being down sized)

No childcare costs!

There is nothing like being your own boss!

The shock of finding out how much money can be made.

To set up an online business, is no easy option however. Be prepaired to work extremly hard to get it going. This can be difficult for some to remain motivated
as you will not (and maybe for the first time ever) have a boss breathing down your neck to get you to work each day. You will have to motivate yourself and become extremly well organised.

You may also be used to a nice regulary weekly or monthy paycheck, a guaranteed amount each week, sick pay, holiday pay....well forget all that!lol

Maybe I'm painting a bleak picture for you...I am trying to help you get real:)

You may not be guaranteed all that I have listed anymore if you decided to become your own boss, you may work for the first 3 months and not make a penny, you may worry that it will never be profitable...but if you stick at, get the best advice and work at it....the rewards are there.

Here at work from home ic we will attempt to give you all the best advice and tools and skills that you require to succed. We will give you ideas tips and tricks, support and friendship.....

You will have to bring the drive and motivation to succeed however:)

Thanks for this information Bubbles. I have been looking around your site for a couple of days now. My husband and I are both looking into getting an online business started together (just weren't exactly sure where to start, what to do). He is tired of wasting his time away in an office where he is not going to get anywhere..and to be honest, I like my full-time transcription job.. but.. for all of the wrong reasons. I don't 100% enjoy doing it. It was just the only option I saw to working from home when I had my first baby. Trust me, husband and I both know about hard work and dedication when it comes to working. ;) We've been thinking about this for a long time now.

I am looking forward to learning from all of the great people here and from this site.

RSS Feed RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs. But it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS: the "recent changes" page of a wiki, a changelog of CVS checking, even the revision history of a book. Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way.
