I just wanted to know if I could name and shame a really terrible host that really messed up my business and would like to make sure they can't do it to anyone else?
Please let me know, if i can't name and shame I'll just tell you what they did without mentioning any names- it is quite shocking how bad they were to me! |

Heya Child of Light! It's best to tell us so we won't fall into the same trap. The webhosting company that I chose were pretty good. I switched from one to another just because I need a lot more space.

You can choose to do so or not but I've found that it's usually a bad business technique to do this kind of thing. I've also seen people get outrageously flamed for doing this. Just a kind of "heads up."

It really does not help to do this on an open forum. Maybe you can give an email ID and ask people who are interested to email you privately. Tell them on the forum about the pitfalls to watch out for and then let them write to you or PM to get the actual name.

That is actually a really good idea. I have seen that done on a lot of forums but just never gave it much thought. I'm really glad that you brought it up. Thanks for sharing!

RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs. But it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS: the "recent changes" page of a wiki, a changelog of CVS checking, even the revision history of a book. Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way. | |
