I understand the concept of blogging, getting ads put on your blog and trying to get more traffic to your blog in order for more people to see the ads so that you can hopefully make more money, but I'm still confused about where the money comes from. Does Google pay you if you go through Adsense? How is your pay determined?

Yes, Google AdSense is one way in which you can get paid for blogging. Usually a blog is about 1 theme and you can also find sponsors and place your affiliate link on your blog to try to make those types of sales as well. I hope this helps you some.

Thanks Brenda. So, Google will pay you to put their ad on your site? Is it just a one-time payment, periodic or it just depends? Thanks for your help! I'm just a little confused about how this all works.

Yes, Google will pay you to post their ads on your site. I think that they pay you every time your account balance hits a certain point. I think that you can increase your balance when people actually click on the ads that are on your site. If I'm wrong here hopefully someone will come along and correct me. It's been a while since I've used them.

I have Google Adsense on my Blog but not on my website. There are a couple of clicks that have been made - but then my blog is not very well advertised. But a lot of people make a lot of money from their Google Adsense, eneough at least to take care of their expenses.

I agree with you that there are definitely a lot of people who make a good living off of AdSense. I actually know a couple of people who do this. I tend to think that there must be some sort of trick to this though because I've never made more than a few cents off of it when I was using it.

This may be a silly question, but again, I really don't know much about Adsense ... Would it be possible to click on the ad yourself to earn you money, or do they track the isp number?

They keep avery good track of who is clicking and if you click you can get banned. It is useful only if you have a good visitor stat for your site or Blog. But since it is free to install you lose nothing, and may gain something.

I think you really have to have a lot of visitors to your site in order for your site to actually do well with AdSense. I have heard stories (or should I say testimonials) of people that I know doing well here but I can't figure out how.

Yes, you do need a popular site, well placed adds, and even better if you have high paying keywords so goole will provide higher pay per click words for you on site. I always caution people however against relying solely on adsense for income. It's againt google tos, plus never put all your eggs in one basket-eg-have adds for products also

RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs. But it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS: the "recent changes" page of a wiki, a changelog of CVS checking, even the revision history of a book. Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way. | |
